Auntie's scolloped dessert plate

Say what you will about the typical fruit on plates, but Auntie's single peach plate reigns supreme in her cupboard. She's proud her cousin painted it in the style of honest American folk. The texture of the clay pleases her too. She likes to arrange cheese around the edges of the plate with a dollop of her peach jam sitting on one of the painted peaches in the middle. This way, when the dessert begins to disappear, the design unfolds like the scent of peaches from her jam.
