Sandra’s early memories included screens used to separate living rooms from play rooms. Back in the fifties, screen designs often were of Asian motifs. Today she pulls a trivet from the drawer of the same style and remembers another decade. She uses it as a wall pieces or a pedestal for her main dish. A few folded red napkins on the table with a blooming plum tree branch, remind her that some styles only get better with time.
